Game Flow Summary

It will be rather fast as the puzzles wont be too complex, this is to keep the amount of script i need to write down which will make me actually complete the project.

Look and Feel

It will look similar to the old Zelda games such as 'Twilight Princess' but will have colour and a different feel and play-style to the Zelda games. It will feel fast as the puzzles won't be too complex in order to keep the scripting to a minimal level as i am not experienced in writing script nor am i going to be able to do it quickly. So trying to keep the scripting level to a minimal will hopefully allow me to complete the script and the game in the allotted time frame we have been given.

Gameplay

Game Progression

The game's progression will be fast however i will try to slow down the game as if the game is only a couple of minutes long it won't be enjoyable to play. Therefore i will try to slow down the progression of the game by making the puzzles and secret locations as hard a possible to find.

Mission/challenge Structure

The challenge to the game is the secret locations which will be dotted around the map in order to progress the player will have to find said locations in order to find collectables, such collectables will be used in 2 different ways; 1- to progress through the game (bomb breaking a boulder) and 2- to be used to make things in order to help the player in various ways.

Puzzle Structure

The player will have to find locations with hidden collectables, such collectables may be used to progress through the map(bomb breaking a boulder blocking the path).

Objectives

Progress to the end where you make things.

Play Flow

It should flow and work fairly smoothly, there may be some input lag as i do not know how to optimise the script.

Mechanics

Physics

No fall damage, traps which will reset you to your last checkpoint, realistic gravity and collision detection, smooth movement transitions.

Forward,Left,Right,Backwards,Jump

Objects

Boulders, Trees, houses , rivers, bridges, rocks and more.

Actions

Opening a chest, exploding a boulder ect...

Combat

There might be combat if i have time to implement this, it would be using magic as it is a fantasy style game.

Elves, Dwarf, humans and demons. The player will adventure through various areas in which the player will encounter various species .

Screen Flow

I hope that the players will find them fully immersed in the game during the puzzles and when discovering new areas of the map.

I wont add menus to the game, purely because i have no idea how and i haven't incorporated this into my time plan. Otherwise i would try to find a way to add menus and settings.

Cheats and Easter Eggs

No cheats, There will be skips which allow the more experienced players to progress though the game faster, there will be some Easter eggs however i will make them up on the spot.

Story, Setting and Characters

Story and Narrative

The story will be shown as the player progresses through the game, the narrative will be shown via label nodes parented by area 2d nodes in which will activate the text when the player enters a certain area.
